In this class we will supply you with a spent propane tank and help you to sculpt it into a work of your design.
We have a number of tanks on hand for you to work with, all the tanks are vented and have been treated to ensure they are safe to cut and weld on.
In this class you may use: MIG welders, Plasma cutting equipment, oxy fuel cutting torches, grinders, horizontal and vertical bandsaws, and abrasive saws.
We can supply you with scraps of steel to sculpt with.
The class is open to beginners, but we do advise taking either our intro to mig, or our Mig Welding intensive class prior.
We will supply you with all materials excepting spray paint. We will supply scraps and material on hand for and additional $1.00 per pound. Tuition includes (1) tank per ticket, up to two persons may work on a single project.
As always, we ask that you wear shop appropriate attire, heavy non-sneaker shoes and cotton clothing.
If you do not finish your Sculpture in the first session you can attend the next scheduled Propane tank sculpting class to finish your work at no additional charge. Classes will be scheduled on Sundays. There are many sources of inspiration available for this project. We have included a few for you to consider.
See you then!
