Beginning Blacksmithing.

This is an inexpensive class for beginning blacksmithing. We will demonstrate simple knifemaking technique, you are welcome to make a knife or any non-enormous project you wish to try.

We have a certain amount of grinding equipment, and a square wheel for knife grinding if that is your thing. This class is casual and ongoing and almost entirely hands on. Students must be 16 at a minimum. It is EXTREMELY easy to get a nasty burn from blacksmithing work. We will be emphasizing safe working practices. This is one of relatively few classes that is warm, literally warm. We hope to enjoy working in the shop in the winter. This class is being offered cheaply partly because we expect to be adding tools and equipment as we go, we are also offering the class cheaply because we miss people and this is bait.
