This class is for intermediate students that have taken our mig welding intensive,it is a follow up to that class, please take that class first. There is no benefit to taking this class before taking the mig welding intensive.Â
Classes are small, generally six people.Â
This class builds on our MIG welding intensive. We will teach more advanced concepts like how to evaluate, tune and troubleshoot a machine, adjust settings, how to perform spray arc transfer, using flux core on heavy materials, and dealing with specific welding problems like welding thick to thinner materials, welding out of position, and setting up for welding very thin materials like the 22,20,and 18 guage materials used in auto body repair.Â
Welding is a skill built with time and practice. This class will help you develop professional skills as quickly as possible. This is a very fast cost effective alternative to taking years of courses at a community college.Â
We teach thousands of beginners how to MIG weld every  year.  We offer the easiest, most thorough and fun way to learn this skill. We are proud to support lgbtq communities. We teach inclusively and offer technical instruction without the misogyny.Â
We know exactly what problems you will face as you learn MIG and can show you how to develop this skill as quickly and easily as possible.
We will discuss how to select and purchase welding equipment.
The workshop fee includes all shop materials and equipment, just show up in a hoodie, long pants and sturdy non-sneaker shoes.
This class is only for people that have taken our mig welding intensive. You should always begin with that class regardless of your experience level. Â
If you are ahead ofthe general curve of the class you will be taught more advanced techniques and theory and given more challenging exercises. If you feel behind the curve we will work with you attentively to help you develop this skill with the bare mandatory minimum of struggle.Â
Our class size is never more than ten, typically six. This allows us to offer more personalized and focused instruction than a community college with classes of typically 30 to 50 people. We are very able to work with people at wildly differing levels of expertise in this class.Â
We offer private instruction in this area as well. Private instruction allows us to work with you flexibly and cover your specific questions, work at your pace, and explore contextual questions.  We can even help you with reasonably sized projects in private instruction.Â
