Learn some carpentry and metalworking skills, or try your hand at painting! If you cannot attend the class, but like the idea, you can buy tickets in $10 increments to donate. Shields are a sculptural metaphor for the increasingly nessecary defense of democracy.

About the Event
In this class we will build a sturdy shield for defensive purposes. This could be used for fencing, Hema, Creative Anachronism or just trying to participate in Democracy without being injured by violent anti-democratic agitators while excercising constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. You can show up at any time between six and ten, but it will take about two hours to fabricate a shield. NO ONE WILL BE TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FUNDS. Please register using our "by donation" ticket. You can also buy a ticket to cover the cost for another party or simply to support the class.
