About the Event

This is a sculptural class for beginning through intermediate levels. It is VERY HELPFUL to take the Mig welding intensive first, but not neccessary. This class is appropriate for complete noobs. This class emphasizes making things as opposed to learning welding in a structured and comprehensive way, it provides more of an artists approach to the subject of welding. We put metal and tools in your hands and pretty much cut you loose.

Please read our faq's if that statement makes you nervous. Welding is much safer than being in a car, doing carpentry or cooking.

Dress in warm natural fibers and boots, we supply all the rest of the gear, gloves, helmets, etc. The cost of the class is per PROJECT so you can bring a friend, so long as they are fourteen or older.

Most of these projects are perfect for beginners, some are a little harder and will take more time and require more skill.

The projects are priced based on the amount of material and time they will require.  Buy a ticket for the project you wish to make. The ticket will indicate how many sessions it will (probably) take you to complete.

If you ever need more time to complete a project, you can buy a ticket for "a little more time" to complete your project.

We offer a "Junk-o Sculpt-o" ticket. This gives you access to our scrap pile. You are also welcome to bring in your own Junk to weld up. Be advised, if it is not magnetic, you won't be able to weld it.

The goal of this class is to give you the opportunity to sculpt with enough support to make it safe, fun and informative.

You will have access to MIG machines, an abrasive saw, horizontal band saw, bench shears, bench grinder, and drill press.

We do not grind in this class, this class is for the projects we provide. Outside projects can only be supported in private instruction sessions.

Make-a-thing is held on Sundays.  10-3 p.m.

See you soon!
