About the Event

Masks are required the facility is extremely well ventilated and utilizes vector mitigation practices.

This class is for beginner to intermediate,  i.e. anyone with under 5 years of professional welding experience.

Classes are small, either repeat this class two or three times or take private instruction after this class to continue to advance.

M.I.G. welding is the easiest type of welding to perform.

The equipment is straight-forward and safe. Much safer than driving, wood working, or cooking.

A M.I.G. machine will run two processes, GMAW (also called Gas shielded or solid wire or DCEP wire feed) and FCAW (also called flux core or DCEN wire feed), we teach both.  You will use a mix of industrial grade and home/hobby grade machines so that you can weld with any machine, any where, any time.

This class will show you how to operate these machines safely and competently. This is the preferred style of welding for general fabrication and repair. It works well for furniture building, sculpture, and automotive restoration as well as construction and home improvement applications.

We teach thousands of beginners how to MIG weld every  year.  We offer the easiest, most thorough and fun way to learn this skill. We are proud to support lgbtq communities. We teach inclusively and offer technical instruction without the misogyny.

We know exactly what problems you will face as you learn MIG and can show you how to develop this skill as quickly and easily as possible.

We will discuss how to select and purchase welding equipment.

The workshop fee includes all shop materials and equipment, just show up in a hoodie, long pants and sturdy non-sneaker shoes.

No prior experience is necessary to take this class.

This class is for complete beginners and intermediates we can also teach experts at the same time since our class size is small.

If you are not a novice you will be taught more advanced techniques and theory and given more challenging exercises.

Our class size is 6 max, this allows us to offer more personalized and focused instruction than a community college with classes of typically 30 to 50 people. We are very able to work with people at wildly differing levels of expertise in this class.

We offer private instruction in this area as well. Private instruction allows us to work with you flexibly and cover your specific questions, work at your pace, and explore contextual questions.
