About the Event
You must take the Mig Welding intensive prior to enrolling in this class.
This is an informal session intended to provide you with an opportunity to practice your welding and make sculptural or functional objects as you see fit. We cannot support projects that create potential liability.
You can use welding equipment we have previously taught you to use.
We will teach you, briefly, how to use any of the tools in the teaching studio excepting the TIG, MIG, STICK, and OXY-FUEL. These are time-intensive subjects and they are taught seperately in private or group instruction..
The ticket includes access to mig and stick welding equipment, a small forge, consumables and an abrasive saw and drill press. We will, informally, briefly introduce topics to the group as interest dictates, and give you pointers regarding your mig and stick welding.
We have mig machines ranging from hobby level to heavy industrial 350 amp machines. If you were wondering about what machine to buy, this session would allow you to figure out what machine is best for you.
We can provide access to services and other equipment, like tig, and provide cnc plasma cutting at an additional cost. Please let us know beforehand if you to practice TIG or have us cut parts for you on the cnc plasma cutter.
We do not supply materials in this class. We advise purchasing steel, aluminum or other materials at Pacific Industrial which is located a few blocks away at 1231 S Director St, Seattle WA 98108. Pacific Industrial is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. They sell both fabrication stock, (steel, and aluminum sheet and profiles) and scrap.
This is intended to be a low cost way for our clients to access industrial equipment on Saturdays. The emphasis is on practice and project time rather than formal instruction. If you require a formal consultation please schedule that independantly.
You can begin and store a project till the following week if you have purchased a ticket for that date.
