Start here, MIG is the easiest welding process. You will be making high-strength welds in this hands-on class. We teach more beginners than any welding school in the US. No one can help you learn welding faster than we can. Class is Saturday, refer to ticket for start times.

This is an informative, safe, comfortable way to begin welding. We supply everything needed.
For best results, Take this class, Mig 1 welding for noobs, then take Welding 101 which is a series of three classes. This class is offered as an intro so you can try welding out, but there is no reason not to take the 101 series first, aside from it being a larger commitment.
You can try TIG or stick at any time, but it will be much easier if you take Mig Classes first.

MIG 1, welding for Noobs, is a class for TOTAL BEGINNERS, (although it is also an excellent class for novice and intermediate welders).
We will discuss safety, which is basically all good news, welding is safer than driving, carpentry, or working in a kitchen. We identify and assess risks based on physics, and data without invoking fear and nonsense.
We will identify and discuss different types of equipment and how they are used.
We will begin welding within about 30 minutes of the start of class and spend the bulk of the class welding 16 guage hot rolled mild steel using gas shielded Mig, also known as GMAW. Thinner material is generally more challenging to weld than thicker materials.
We have a variety of machines available to try. We will discuss other types of welding like TIG and Stick.
We will show you how to inspect and test welds for quality visually, and physically.
By the end of this class, you will understand the process, all the safety concerns, and you will have a basic but useful grasp of MIG welding. You will also have a better understanding of welding safety than many professional welders do.
We offer private instruction if you wish to bring in your own machine. We provide all the tools and materials required, we ask that you wear shop appropriate shoes and a long sleeved principally cotton garment. Please, no sneakers or shoes with nylon uppers.
All clients in our classes recieve tons of individual attention to help ensure each client achieves their particular goals.
Our class size is never more than Ten. Commercial welding classes are often 50 clients per instructor.
