How it Started, how it is going...

In roughly 1994 my good friend was fixated on an industrial arts collective called Survival Research Laboratories.
I convinced him to get in touch with and pester the founder, Mark Pauline.
It took some doing, but eventually Bob got in touch and subsequently took on increasingly important roles at SRL, the legendary grandfathers of industrial art.
They appeared to be having a good time making exciting and dangerous gadgets.
I volunteered with them briefly, and the experience stuck with me.
I founded Hazard Factory, originally as Hazard Factory Forge, upon graduating college and have since produced art and events generally in an industrial arts theme.
Over the years dozens of people have volunteered at Hazard Factory, and I have repaid the community by providing support to artists in the form of instruction, design and fabrication.
The business side of Hazard Factory provides instruction and team building exercises. We often produce or host shows and art events.
We have become one of the very best places to learn welding and related skills.
Currently, we offer very accessible instruction, often in subjects that are hard to access, like laser welding, tig welding of non-ferrous materials, and general fabrication.
We also lease a 3000 sq foot space which we use for events.
This blog will discuss welding and art related topics. I am currently improving my skills with Titanium and laser welding and will chronicle this adventures here, and on my Patreon page.
Thank you for being a part of this journey!
